What a Time!!!

As many of you may know, I have switched over on my internet server. Well I have tried for many days to be able to switch e-mail addresses with my blogspot without much success!! Tonight after about 4 hours of "fighting" with this @@##$$%#%$@# machine I have finally accomplished just that. Now I feel like I am getting back into the swing of things since my PC crashed big time in December or was it November?? either way it's been a long time.

NEW BABY

We have a new little baby at our house, he's about 8 weeks old, grey with green eyes and his name is "Mr. Mouse". So now we have a "cat" and a "mouse" for pets; the cat being Miss Kitty. Miss Kitty has accepted the new baby quite well and for this I am glad; I think she has been very lonely since here sister was lost. Here is a photo of Mr. Mouse in his kennel for a nap with his pink teddy.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

I can't believe that October is gone so swiftly! First of all today was our 45th anniversary and we just spent a quiet day at home as we are planning to go to Lexington in a few days for a special dinner, lobster perhaps or scallops for me.

Thought a would post a photo of what I'm working on now, a Christmas present for my sister-in-law. I have reverse appliqued the angel to the back of a very nice medium, weight cotton that looks satiny. Then emblished it with lots of SRE, regular embroidery stitches and beading. I'm thinking of placing a satin border all around and then having the whole piece framed. It should finish at approx. 8"x 10" but we'll see.

Many more hearts...

Here are the next batch of hearts that I have made. I can't believe that I am already up to #26!! This has been so much fun and is very adictive; my hubby asked "how many more of these are you going to make?"!! I told him, until I get sick of them or run out of ideas.

If You Can't Lick 'em, Join 'em

I want to share a little photo my friend sent me this morning. I love kitties and the expression on this one's face is just so prescious! Of course, the little saying's not so bad either, think I'll place it on my e-mails. LOL

HEARTS #13, #14, #15 & #16

I can't believe it, I just worked for what seemed like ages to upload 4 photos and write a message.... have no idea what I did wrong, but I lost the whole thing!

Well let's try again; the photos are of the next set of 4 hearts that I have been working on. I'm not sure yet just what I will do with them, swap, make a Christmas present or something else. It has been a big help for me to have them to work on during this time of stress and sorrow.
The four cherubs are from a picture I had, I scanned it and seperated the images then printed to fabric... the rest as they say is history. Hope you enjoy seeing these little angel hearts.

Two Kitties

Two little kitties sleeping in the computer chair.
I'm just "messing" around with Beta blogger to see if I have better results in getting things done. The photos do upload much quicker and with the original form.
This photo is of Miss Kitty and Sparky when they were babies; we have since that time lost Sparky.
Miss Kitty is now a very large, house cat, weighing in at 13 pounds and the vet is placing her on a diet! Suppose he could help me?? LOL

HEARTS #9, #10, #11 AND #12

For some reason totally unknown to me, I have not been able to go back into "edit" and add this photo of heart #7 in the previous post, so here it is. This is the one that went to Nina Fosse, Norway.
Heart #9 has gone to my "sister" Wilma in the Netherlands. I used some of the silk brocade that I bought in Canada, trim bought locally and silk ribbon roses.
...and now for #10 it has a cute little snail on it along with a ladybug. Seems everyone is enjoying the last of summer's flowers before winter comes.

Heart #11 has dragonflies, butterflies, ladybugs and even a bird or two. As of 9/19/06 it flew away to reside with Helina in Finland.
....and my favorite, #12 which I have decided to keep. I sort of went a little crazy thread painting a bumble bee and a dragonfly. The dragonfly in made with 8 full strands of metallic thread that is couched and lifted between each couching thread; this makes a "bumpy" effect to give more dimention. A couple of Fargo roses, a little lace and there you have it!
Now on to work on the next four hearts, they are all pieced, each has a cherub and you'll have to wait for further information. Sorry....

HEARTS SWAPPED

Heart #3 - now resides in Italy with Lorenza. I started to highlight the Pixie's dress and ended up "thread painting" the whole thing.!

Heart #4 - went to Sandi Willmott, Australia. After reading about everyone loving butterflies, I made this one. I was going to keep it but gave in and let it go to it's new home.

Heart #5 - to Maureen Bond, Australia and Heart #6 - to Candji Buckoher, Ohio

Heart #7 - to Nina Fosse, Norway

Heart #8 - to Julia Camilleri - W Australia

Well there it is so far.... whew!!! It has taken we quite awhile as I keep "clicking" on the wrong key and loosing my photo or information. It's not set up exactly as I would have liked, but this will do for now. After supper I will try to post the next four hearts.

HEARTS RECEIVED

These are the first three hearts that have arrived at my house. It was so much fun to find them in the mail and to see the work up close and personal. Am looking forward to the rest of the hearts that are due to arrive shortly.
